We would like to share the interim results and news of the information campaign "Be warm Kyrgyzstan!-II", which is being implemented by Unison with the support of the USAID Program for the Support of Effective Public Administration (GGPAS). To date, more than 80% of the campaign has been completed, and our trainers have given public lectures on reducing heat losses in homes, using energy-efficient technologies, and improving legal literacy in 407 of the 500 planned settlements, and 9 of the 25 routes have been fully completed.
These routes were arranged using the "caravan" method, with visits to the most populated and most remote villages and towns of the republic. On the ground, we are assisted in organizing lectures by the heads-akims of regional administrations and their deputies, heads of aiyl okmotu, and in some villages our coaches are accompanied by managers of the Central Military District and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
In general, the population perceives information with great interest. The topic of warming their homes turned out to be one of the most in demand, especially during the cold season. Some of the coaches who completed their routes shared their impressions of the lectures.:
"Ushubo-2 public lectures were an anticipated event for the villagers, which is turning into a good tradition of sharing useful tips for the cold season from the Unison Foundation. This year, the topic of lectures has expanded to include topical issues of energy-efficient modern residential buildings and legal issues of electricity supply. The construction boom in all regions of the country poses new demands and new opportunities for all rural residents. There were numerous questions from the villagers, as most of the residents had already received their first experiences, positive and negative, on the use of new materials and construction technologies. During the lectures, specific questions were asked about insulation and strengthening houses. Even the head of the Orukta JSC brought me to his house under construction to get advice on the materials used and achieve energy efficiency upon completion. In Bospeek village, Aksyy district, an experienced master of efficient furnaces also showed his house and was interested in an integrated approach to achieve energy efficiency. These examples are not isolated. Such appeals were made in almost every village, and this confirms the importance and usefulness of the events being held. The reaction of residents on the ground is positive, and they also thank you for your care, information, useful advice and literature that is so important and relevant," says Zhanybek Kulumbetov, coach for the Jalal-Abad region.
"Our team has completed lectures in 20 settlements of the Chui region. We saw that the residents of the region live very differently. Moreover, many houses are being built, so the rules of new construction have not been ignored. How to insulate houses, how to choose materials for insulation and especially their installation - this information was in great demand. By the nature of my work, I had to visit many villages of the Chui region, but I still continue to be amazed at how people know how to make their lives more joyful and interesting. We visited, for example, the village of Tosh Bulak in the Sokuluk region, where along a wide rural road there were snow giants about 2 meters high - the Snow Maiden and Santa Claus, and even a huge monkey. We met the creators of these figures after the lecture, we just couldn't get through without getting acquainted with the work of young people. As a result, our team received not only a positive charge of emotions, but also answered the questions of young people and girls about insulation. In short, the attention with which Ushubo-2's information is received and the cordiality of the residents supported us on our difficult journey through the mountains and plains of the region. I cannot but thank the representatives of the regional state administrations of Ysyk Ata and Sokuluk districts for their support and assistance, as well as for accompanying them on the way.
