Webinar:
Energy Efficiency Policy Dialogue in Kyrgyz Republic: progress and lessons learned
Thursday, 9 February 2023, 10:00-11.30 CET

About the webinar:
Kyrgyzstan is considered as one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Realising the significant potential for energy efficiency investment in buildings, the huge demand for such by the market stakeholders, and by identifying the absence of any supportive legislation for the sector, EBRD has engaged in policy dialogue with the Kyrgyz authorities.

The Kyrgyz Republic Policy Dialogue interventions aimed at setting up principally new legislation on the energy performance of buildings (LEPB), based on principles, actions, and objectives provided by the EU Building Directive. The new legislation addresses all categories of buildings – residential, commercial, and public construction of new buildings as well as sets conditions, levels of requirements, and process for the energy-efficient renovation of existing buildings.

This Webinar is part of the Call-Off Assignment of EBRD “Knowledge Sharing and Management of Kyrgyz Policy Dialogue experience”, which is Technical Support provided to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic within the Kyrgyz Sustainable Financing Facility (KyrSEFF) supported by the European Union.

Speakers:
• Kanat Abdrahmanov, Vice Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyz Republic
• Ksenia Brockmann, Associate Director, Head of Green Financial Systems (GFS), Caucasus, Central Asia & Turkey
• Nurzat Abdyrasulova, Energy Efficiency Expert. Unison Group, Kyrgyzstan
